2021
I started advising Pappas Capital on their $200M USD fund called Asia Innovation Ventures back in 2021, a fund focused on Seed - Series B "deep tech" coming from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. I've learned about fund management, deal sourcing, due dilligence, and closing, and also advising portfolio companies and adding value to executive teams.

Leading at Curative
2020 - 2022
In early 2020, I was on a business trip to the US with JLABS, attending JPM 2020 in SF. I was scheduled to spend a few weeks in the US before heading back to China. News reports of COVID delayed me first by a few weeks and then it was clear that life as I knew it had changed.
I had the opportunity to join a very new, but incredibly passionate group of people working on launching a COVID test in the US called Curative. Thinking I would be there 6 months to help scale COVID testing before heading back to China, our work continued for 2.5 years and I helped scale the company to over 36M tests, nearly 7,000 team members, and built the marketing and communications team from the ground up.
Ultimately, I stayed 2.5 years and helped navigate the company and the brand into a new direction.

Working in China
2018 - 2020
After graduating from Tsinghua University in 2020, I had the privledge of joining Johnson & Johnson's government affairs team in Beijing. There I worked on IP, trade, and market access policies amidst the ongoing US-China "trade war". It was a fascinating time to work on healthcare policy and learn about China's rapid technology developments and investments in healthcare improvements.
I worked in an all Mandarin speaking team which was one of the most challenging experiences of my work life to date. My Mandarin improved and I worked to overcome deep imposter syndrome.
After a year, I had the opportunity to join J&J's new innovation incubator based out of Shanghai, called JLABS where I helped ~50 portfolio companies to connect internally across J&J, raise venture capital, market their products, find vendors, recruit talent, and more.
